Water Source Vertical Float Switch for Sump Pumps is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement Switch This float switch replaced a switch that failed after 5 years of service in a Flotec Sink Tray System pump used for laundry. Since the pump still works fine, replacing the switch saved nearly $150.00 vs. replacing the entire unit. I called Flotec for help and service tech. recommended Tractor Supply as one of the locations to find the replacement switch and even gave me the correct part number. I ordered on line and picked up curbside at our local store.

Is this switch compatible with the Hydromatic V-A1 sump pump?

Asked by: dsb53
The Hydromatic V-A1 sump pump uses a piggy-back vertical float and the WSPBV will work as a direct replacement. It is actually the same float that is on this style pump.

Do I use this by setting it up and then just plugging my existing manual on/off sump pump into it?

Asked by: amazonanne
Yes, that is precisely what you would want to do with it.

can this switch be internally altered for normally open versus normally closed? The way it appears set up now, the pump shuts off when the float drops to the bottom. I need the pump operating until it floats up and turns the pump off.

I have a 12volt battery backup sump pump and and have a free hanging float that turns on when the water rises and causes the float to flip up and activate.  I want to replace the existing float with this and direct wire to battery. will that work?

Asked by: BigT84
Yes, this can be hooked up in a 12 Volt system.
