Q: when float is floating on top of water, is the switch open or closed ? and is the switch considered n/0 or n/c float switch ?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi, Here is the information we received from our vendor- "If Im understanding the question, on a vertical switch it is closed until the float rises with the water level to a certain point. Once it reaches the “turn on” phase it continues to run until it reaches its cut off point and will automatically shut off. "

Q: Is this switch compatible with the Hydromatic V-A1 sump pump?

1 Answer
  • A: The Hydromatic V-A1 sump pump uses a piggy-back vertical float and the WSPBV will work as a direct replacement. It is actually the same float that is on this style pump.

Q: can this switch be internally altered for normally open versus normally closed? The way it appears set up now, the pump shuts off when the float drops to the bottom. I need the pump operating until it floats up and turns the pump off.

Replacement Switch

This float switch replaced a switch that failed after 5 years of service in a Flotec Sink Tray System pump used for laundry. Since the pump still works fine, replacing the switch saved nearly $150.00 vs. replacing the entire unit. I called Flotec for help and service tech. recommended Tractor Supply as one of the locations to find the replacement switch and even gave me the correct part number. I ordered on line and picked up curbside at our local store.

Yes, I recommend this product.
