This Water Source Well System Pressure Switch signals the pump to start when the water system drops to 30 PSI (factory set) and stops at 50 PSI (factory set). This well pump pressure switch is to be used with submersible well or jet pumps. It can be wired 115-volt or 230-volt. This pump pressure switch must be used in conjunction with a well pressure tank. The air pressure in the well tank, when empty of all water, must be set to 28 PSI, or the switch will not operate properly.

- Signals the pump to start when the water system drops to 30 psi (factory set) and stops at 50 psi (factory set)
- Can be wired 115 volt or 230 volt
- Well pump pressure switch for use with submersible well or jet pumps (that can create up to 50 pounds of pressure)
- Motor wires are connected to the 2 middle posts (color does not matter)
- Breaker box wires are connected to 2 outside posts (color does not matter)
- 2-spring design of pump pressure switch allows for adjustment of cut-in and cut-out pressure settings
- Adjustments to springs should only be made by users with good knowledge of well systems
- Tank must be in good condition in order for this to work properly

- A: A “40-60” switch is used with submersible pumps and larger well tanks. A 20-40 is used on jet pumps as they have a hard time building more than 50 psi. A 30-50 can be used on a jet pump or submersible. A 40/60 would not be used on a jet pump. With a 40-60 switch you get a bit more run time on the pump which is ideal.7 years agoHelpful?

- A: If the pressure switch has no bearing on the pump you purchase, it will work. What is important is if you have a 30/50 switch, you must have 28 PSI of air in your tank to make the switch work correctly. Please check the amount of air in your tank with “no water” in the tank. DO NOT BUY! BUYER Beware

contacts were touching but no power was getting to the pump, which in effect allowed my aerator to run dry and my other pump that pumps water into the house to wear badly (just think buzz saw noise) since it was running dry, now just trying to squeeze every bit of life out of the pump that is less than a year old ;sad thing is the switch was less than a month old. contacts would touch no power getting through to the pump till i would smack it then the contacts would reseat and work. no questions it was the switch. do yourself a favor and buy a Square D switch.
