Do your part to keep the local deer well-fed by setting up the Treeline 600 lb. Timed Protein Feeder. This feeder holds up to 600 lb. of feed to supplement the natural deer forage diet. A large viewing window lets you see how much feed remains, and the timer with 6 programmable feeding times allows you to customize the feed flow. The adjustable feed collar allows you to utilize a variety of feed (protein, corn, etc.).

Q: Will it work with sweet feed

- A: This feeder will works with corn or protein feeds. Sweet feed will often clog feeders because its molasses content makes it sticky, causing it to clump, especially when exposed to heat or moisture, turning into a mushy, moldy mess that jams mechanisms like spinner plates and gravity flow. While deer love the smell, it's better suited for troughs or scattering on the ground, not automatic spin feeders, and requires diligent moisture control.8 months agoHelpful?

- A: It really depends on how much the animals eat between feedings. The tubes will hold about 8lbs of corn. If they are active enough to empty the tubes between feedings, you will drop 8lbs of corn per feeding. If not, the next feeding will only drop enough to fill the tubes back up.11 months agoHelpful?

This timer is under our Outcast brand, but it will work for the Tree Line timed protein feeder and Field & Stream timed protein feeder. This new timer has a built-in solar controller that will trickle charge the battery when it's full and charge at full rate when the battery is low so it will help lengthen battery life. - A: The collar is for slowing down the feed but it is only for keeping it in the tube. Adjusting it to its lowest position will keep from having spillage when the chute is opened. You cannot use it to adjust the amount of feed going into the tubes.a year agoHelpful?

I purchased the timed protein feeder on Father's day. I have been very satisfied with it so far. It is very sturdy and seems to have a strong motor. Ready for the season to start.

This is a decent quality feeder. But it needs some modifications to work correctly. Take off the junk actuator. Just make it a free choice gravity feeder . It’s is too low to the ground. The feed ports need to be minimum of 40 inches from the ground. You can do that by cutting a 2x6 into some. blocks of wood. 5 blocks for each feeder leg. Screw them together
Drill a 1/2 hole through them and stake it down with some 1/2 inch anchor stakes 24 In inches long . To keep squirrels and coons from climbing the legs. You can put the legs in 6 inch pvc pipe at least 4 feet long before complete assembly.

Feeder has been in use for a little over a year. The actuator starting faulting a little towards the end of the warranty period. I thought at first it was the timer but trouble shooting through the components deduced it was the actuator finally when it completely stopped working. Replaced with one that matched the specs and the feeder is working again. I actually like the feeder and it's design and over construction. It's not light duty like the ones you get from a box store but not as stout as some of your independent fabricators but you get what you pay for construction wise . The timer does require you to pull the fuse and clean it every 3-4 months. I recommend you add to the sealant around the view windows and leg bolts

Great feeder for the price! Mine survived a bear knocking it over while almost full of feed. Stood it back up and it seems fine. Will buy another.
