The Boss Buck 200 lb. All-In Gravity Rotomolded Protein Feeder is constructed of Tough Roto-Molded HDPE UV-protected plastic that won't rot, rust or leak--the same process used to make white water kayaks! Virtually maintenance-free, this best-selling protein feeder converts between gravity and automatic in just minutes. Boss Buck's patented Free Choice Protein/Gravity Head makes this protein feeder the most moisture-resistant free choice feeding system available. The custom-designed head on the protein feeder features a 10-degree angle and 1 in. overhang on the 4 in. feed ports. Any water that enters the tip of the feed port is dispersed through a drain hole in each port. This patented design features an internal cone that dispenses the feed evenly to all 3 ports. Get the job done right with this protein feeder!

Q: Is this product squirrel proof. With other products they gnaw a hole in the feeder

1 Answer
  • A: Hi there, Thanks for the question. Here is the information we received from the vendor- The feeders are not rodent/squirrel resistant but we do make varmint guards to help eliminate the damage they can do. Unfortunately we do not carry those at Tractor Supply. You can find those on the Boss Buck website.

Q: yes the flow rate is the corn flowing into the drop down neck into the feed tubes, you can adjust it wide open or limit the flow by side bolts, so when it's wide open what is the flow rate i.e how much cord does it dispense when the flow rate is wide open

1 Answer
  • A: Hey Clifton 78, Here is the information I received from Boss Buck This item has not been assigned a specific flow rate. You have two options to control the rate at which the feed is dispensed: 1. The Gravity head. It allows the feed to come straight down the shoot, based on how you have inner sleeve (located in the 3 way head) set. If the sleeve is up high the feed will drop slower, if the sleeve is lower the maximum amount of feed will drop down. 2. The Spinner head. This feature uses the timer to help dispense feed. Again how the spinner head is set and how much time is set on the timer, will determine how much feed is dropped. THEY ALSO SUGGESTED VISITING THERE WEBSITE using the following link. Just copy and paste it into a website browser. https://www.bossbuck.com/200-lb-feeders/ once on the page for the Leg Option use the drop down feature to select Multi piece and for the Deliver System select Protein & 12v Spinner. This will bring up lots of great information on this feeder.

Boss Buck #200 deer feeder

I really like this feeder. Great for feeding protein pellets and/or corn. It also cuts waste of feed unlike spin feeders. Its easy to assemble and set up. Its keeps feed dry and is easy to fill.

Best Feeder at price point

Great Feeder. I bought 2 after going through the cheaper French sounding brand every year or so. The raccoons and squirrels would destry the French sounding brand, but these Boss Bucks are tanks in comparison. Also, the coons haven't been able to get to the feed. Im sure they could in certain circumstances, but hasnt happened to mine yet. Very solid construction and easy to put together. Only little issues of note are- The legs are week, youll want to get the feet and some construction stakes so hogs wont knock it over. Also, remember to line up the logos on the feed tube and the hopper when putting together, or youll have to fix the alignment.
