Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great choice! I wasn’t sure about buying a grill with wood chips. I was nervous it had to be plugged in BUT I’m so glad my husband talked me into it. Everything I have made on it has been awesome! Having the smoker option is just amazing, I made smoked ribs on it for the first time ever and even my son who hates ribs devoured them! I can tell you I ran into a issue from the start with the temperature dial, it was jumping temperatures on me. So, I called the company to see if it was the grill or something I did. Within 2 minutes of the conversation the representative told me he was sending me a new part, it was mailed that day and my instructions where sent to my email immediately. I’ve never had that type of instant customer support. It is different but a really really good different! Can’t tell you how fun it is to have a smoker and a grill. Just make sure you let it heat up for awhile before cooking. If you don’t you won’t get a good sear on the food. Also, clean out the pot that collects the ash before cooking again and remove extra pellets. It just helps your next start up to go smoothly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I bought this a few weeks ago and love it! Works great and have not had one issue with it. Read lots of reviews when shopping around for pellet grills, after much consideration settled on this one. Great buy for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great grill! Bought this grill a couple of weeks ago and have used it multiple times since. It is very easy to set up and get started. Seems to be built well and should hold up to rigorous use over the years. Very pleased with the purchase.

How long does it take to heat up compared to gas

Asked by: Cgcg
It all depends on what temperature you want to select, but it will normally get up to temp in around 15 minutes. Please keep in mind that this pellet smoker will not get as hot as a gas grill. This pellet smoker is designed to get up to around 400-degrees F whereas a gas grill will up to around 600-degrees F. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Have a great day!

How many pounds of pellets per hour at about 180 degrees?

Asked by: Tim 74
There are a lot of different variables that come in to play here - the temperature outside, the type of meat your cooking, etc. If it's 100-degrees outside then it won't take as many pellets to keep the temperature at around 180-degrees. If it's below freezing, then the auger will need to feed more pellets in order for the smoker to maintain it's temperature. On average, it would most likely use around 1/2lb to 1lb of pellets every hour or so. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Have a great day!

How do you clean the inside underneath the grates and in the bottom.

Asked by: katiebug
The bottom of the Trail Embers barrel should only have a little ash on the bottom that can be either vacuumed out with a shop vac or cleaned out with a wet paper towel. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
