Item Information

Standlee Premium Orchard Grass Pellets are high density, 1/4 in. diameter pellets of Standlee Premium Western Forage. Orchard Grass forage is typically slightly higher in protein and calories compared to Timothy and can be moderate to high in sugar content.

Ingredients:
Naturally Sun-Cured Premium Western Orchard Grass Forage.

Guaranteed Analysis:
Crude Protein (min.) 8%
Crude Fat (min.) 1.5%
Crude Fiber (max.) 35%

Feeding Instructions:
On average most horses comfortably consume 2% of their body weight in dry forage per day. This equates to 20 lb. of dry forage per day for a 1000 lb. horse. Standlee recommends that you weigh the amount of forage provided to each horse to ensure you are feeding the proper amount. Standlee also recommends that pelleted and cubed forage not be the sole source of forage since feeding some long-stem forage (hay) may help eliminate boredom and prevent stall vices. Feed Standlee Premium Western Forage at a minimum rate of 1.5% of body weight per day. Gradually replace existing hay with Standlee Premium Western Forage over a 7-10 day period. Replace existing hay on a 1 to 1 basis with Standlee Premium Western Forage. Standlee Premium Western Forage is recommended to be fed wet, soaked in water for 30 minutes or until properly softened, for horses that have dental problems or for horses that aggressively consume their feed. Never feed moldy or insect infested forage to horses. Always provide free-access to fresh, clean water. If you have questions, please contact the nutritionists at Standlee Premium Western Forage, or consult with your veterinarian.

Standlee Premium Western Forage Premium Orchard Grass Pellets, 40 lb. Bag is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality for a Great Price Purchased this for my tortoise, rather than livestock, since the species I have needs a diet of 80% grasses and hay. This looks and smells incredibly fresh, and my little guy eats it like crazy once it has been soaked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality, horses love it The quality is very high and consistent from bag to bag. It smells lovely and my horses love it. I soak it with beet pulp for my older horses who have trouble with hay, and it helps keep the weight on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from my 30 year quarter stud loves this pellet. I have an old horse that has teeth issues and this is a great product to allow him his grass, easy for him to eat mixed with his food. It has helped with maintaining his weight.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great senior supplement I have a senior horse with teeth/chewing issues, so the pellet hay soaked in water is perfect for him to get the nutrients he needs.

Can geese eat this

Asked by: Fmart612
Thank you for your question. The Orchard Grass Pellets are fine for geese to eat. Geese will naturally eat some fiber. We would not recommend making the Orchard Grass Pellets the sole ingredient in the diet, but eating some is not a problem. Thank you

Can this be used as rabbit feed?

Asked by: kieyah
Thank you for your inquiry. Standlee Premium Western Forage does not recommend that you purchase the Compressed or Grab and Go bales and/or bagged products for your small animals, as they are graded for livestock. Standlee Premium Western Forage has a small animal line; in which we recommend feeding these products to small animals. Standlee Small Animal Premium Forage can be fed to rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas, prairie dogs and other herbivores. In essence, the product is all grown the same, however we select and grade each stack according to small animal or livestock. Thank you

I would like to purchase the Standlee Teff pellets. How can I do this?

Asked by: Jeanyn

What is the NSC for this product?

Asked by: SueF
Thank you for your question. We do not test each batch as it is made, we test our fields, we are required by law to guarantee protein, fat, fiber and moisture, we are not required to guarantee non-structured carbs (WSC & Starch). We can provide you with a 5-year average of what the mineral levels are of the Standlee Products. All values are based on “As Fed Basis”. The estimated NSC levels of the Standlee Orcahrd Grass Pellets is 11%. Thank you
