Item Information

High Fiber Chopped Hay is a measured blend of timothy, oat and alfalfa hay, with added molasses and short chopped for easier chewing and digestibility. Great for the older horse as well as maintenance of the pleasure horse. Dried at a high temperature to lock in the natural nutrition.

  • Eliminates harmful mold spores that are detrimental to horses with respiratory problems

Ingredients:
Dehydrated Chopped Timothy Hay, Oat Hay, Alfalfa Hay, Cane Molasses, Propionic Acid (Preservative).

Guaranteed Analysis:

Feeding Instructions:
Determine the proper amount according to the horse's age, weight, temperament and work load.
When fed as the sole forage ration, feed 1% - 1.5% of the horse's bodyweight per day.
When fed as a supplement, feed 4 to 6 lb. per day.
When fed as a partial hay replacement, feed on a pound for pound exchange rate.
This feed can be fed in a bucket, in a corner feeder mixed with the daily grain ration or even outside in a feed tub. However you choose to feed, remember to calculate your feed by weight not volume. As a guide, a 5-gallon water bucket packed full with our forage weighs approximately 5 pounds.
*Always make changes to your horse's diet gradually over a period of 7 to 10 days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great roughage I feed Manna Pro daily as a high fiber supplement. During the winter months it helps provide great roughage and with the molasses a great energy source. I feed 2/3 gal. bucket w/regular feed/day. I like the quality and consistency of Manna Pro.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, no waste, fussy horses eat happily Trying to keep weight on hard keepers and this has been the trick this cold winter. Put it in a bucket and it is licked clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! This hay has changed my senior horses life. After bouts of asthma from traditional quality field hay, I found this hay. With the controlled manufacture with no dust and ALWAYS consistent this has been our cure for all respiratory issues!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My goats like it My goats enjoy this hay and eat it pretty well. I buy it when our local supply of coastal hay is out. Pros: Less dust than fresh hay, pellets or compressed bales. Less waste compared to fresh hay Easier to carry and feed without getting hay in my clothes Cons: Some thick, sharp stems Pricey compared to fresh hay

What is the shelf life of this chopped hay?  Do you have to be careful to not get hole in plastic packaging while storing (like chaffhaye)?

Asked by: Becky66

Is there enough molasses to noticeable/sticky? Or is it just a light misting that you can't tell is in there?

Asked by: 3horsie
The Hi-Fiber forage is slightly ‘moist’ with molasses upon opening. If the bag is left open to the air the forage will dry out. The molasses is blended in, not misted.

Is there any reason this can't be fed in small amounts to my Chinchilla? Like horses, they are ruminants

Asked by: ladyjagator
If fed sparingly in small amounts we do not see feeding Hi-Fiber to chinchillas problematic.

Can I feed this to my pet rabbit?

Asked by: rbmjp
We recommend not feeding it to rabbits. Since the product has added molasses it would be too rich for rabbits.
