If 2% of a typical horse's weight should be fed each day, a 1100 pound horse needs 22 pounds of feed per day. At least 25% of this -- 5.5 pounds -- can be beet pulp. Pellets can be fed all at once or split up between a morning or evening feeding. They can be fed alone or mixed with other feeds. While some nutritionists recommend soaking beet pulp pellets at least 30 minutes prior to feeding, many believe soaking is not necessary. Dried beet pulp will remain feedable for at least one year so long as they are kept dry.
As with any change in feed ration, it is best to change a horse's feed gradually. As such, we suggest substituting no more than 25% for the first two weeks in order to allow the horse's gut to adjust. After that, most horses can consume up to 50% of their overall diet as beet pulp.

Q: What are the ingredients of this product? It only says beet pulp on the bag but I am finding cracked corn as well as whole corn kernels in the most recent bag I purchased. And the bag is over 50% crumbled feed rather than pellets.

Helps keep old mare in great shape.

My 30+ yr old QH mare was loosing weight. Dental vet recommended soaking alfalfa in water, it helped her gain weight but when I added the beet pulp I saw real results. She also seems to like the taste.

Terrible delivery again

At least it's on the steps this time. Wrong barn again 🙄. Last 3 times it was left on the ground. One of those was in the rain. Horse feed. On the ground. In the rain. I asked him last month not to leave it there and he said "I don't have time for that". So now I have to pick 50 lb bags of feed up off the ground and carry it back to the barn it actually goes in. Terrible service. I'm about to rethink doing business with TSC. The store here is always out of my horse feed. It's a mess and it's about impossible to get anyone to assist with purcgases

Love this product more than standlee beet pulp. However the Hesperia store never has it! Also better quality and price than standlee.
