Compressed Bale

Premium Orchard Grass Grab & Go Compressed Bales are formed by allowing Standlee Premium Western Forage to grow to the proper stage of maturity, cutting the plants, allowing them to sun-cure (dry) to an acceptable moisture level and baling the forage at the optimal time. Standlee Premium Western Forage creates compressed bales of forage from a large 4'x4'x8' bale that is put through a press, sliced horizontally, pushed onto a scale, weighed, compressed and then banded. Orchard Grass forage is typically slightly higher in protein and calories compared to Timothy and can be moderate to high in sugar content. Forages are non-perishable and can last for long periods of time if stored properly. Always store forages in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area. As long as the product is properly stored, forages can last for well over a year or more. Available in 50 pound bales.

  • 8% Protein - Ideal for horses that require a moderate protein diet, such as those in light to moderate work or those on a maintenance diet
  • Calorie Friendly - Lower calories than alfalfa or mixed forages
  • Highly Palatable - ensures that your horse will enjoy every bite, encouraging better feed consumption and overall health
  • Natural forage length - mimics grazing, slows intake, stimulates chewing and minimizes digestive upset, may help eliminate boredom and prevent stall vices
  • Efficient Storage - convenient for horse owners with limited storage capacity
  • Easy Travel - ideal for horse owners who travel frequently with their horses to shows or events
  • Sun-cured - retains maximum nutritional value and freshness, ensuring optimal health benefits for your horse
  • Made in USA - Made in Idaho with care with the highest-quality forage in the USA

Q: South Texas horse owners are desperate for low NSC, low sugar, high quality grass hays. But our Standlee compressed bales, are REALLY poor quality here, and we have LOW availability. The bales are always dried sticks, dust, mud & rocks. What can we do?

Q: Good for dog bedding?

1 Answer
  • A: No, the Standlee Premium Western Forage Orchard Grass Grab and Go Compressed Hay Bale, 50 lb. is not good for dogs. Even for use as bedding, Standlee Orchard Grass is not the recommended choice for dogs. While some people may use hay or straw for outdoor dog houses, there are significant risks, and better alternatives are available.

I love this hay!!!

I am completely satisfied and absolutely thrilled with the value and quality of this hay! It smells fresh and my herd is excited to eat. The length of the blades of this hay is perfect! So many other brands have short, dusty bits, but these hay blades are long and fresh! I love the way it’s compressed, making it easier to store and I’m not left with so much packaging waste. Most of all, i get this high quality feed product for half the price of a lesser quality brand!!

Dusty hay

There is so much hay and dust in this Hey that I am afraid to give any more of it to my Guinea pigs as they have sensitive respiratory issues and the dust can affect their lungs There are also quite a few rocks in it I shook as much dust as I can from the Hey but it's still really dusty

Store Complaint

The hay was great quality. However, my complaint is not being able to have the product shipped to a Tractor Supply Store without having to pay a shipping fee; especially when the store I use, carries Standlee hay in Alfalfa, Alfalfa/Orchard, and Timothy. The store I use is : Store #1904.
