Q: Do bluebird nuggets - due to their size - feed down properly as the birds eat what they can reach? So many feeders are built such that the nuggets won't drop as the bottom portion are eaten.

- A: We would not recommend the use of the Blue Bird Nuggets with this model feeder as they may be too large to filter through the feed ports. As an alternative, we suggest trying one of our platform feeders such as our 412 and 50178 models.9 years agoHelpful?

Well made feeder

Recently added this feeder to the backyard. It seems to be well made and rugged enough to hold up. Good size for smaller birds and holds a fair amount of seed. Easy to clean & looks nice, too. Squirrels have a tough time getting to the goodies and tend to stay away from it which is a huge win for me!

The top of the feeder starts to rust immediately. I coated the top with a heavy coat of car wax, but that shouldn't be needed.

We are sorry to hear that! Try and hang your feeder at least twelve feet from any tree trunk or limb and at least four feet up from the ground. This will prevent squirrels from either jumping from the tree or up from the ground onto the feeder. Feel free to contact the original retailer for assistance with a refund.
