Not for use out in the open on a shepards hook.

Rain runs off top lid into bottom tray during rain, ruining thick layer of seeds. Wet seeds must be cleaned out after every rain. Poor design. Top needs to be larger diameter than bottom tray.

I have gone through several feeders of various types and find the birds like this feeder. There are often two or more small birds on the feeder at the same time. The bottom ledge is large enough for cardinals but too small for blue jays, who always seem to hog other feeders. I purchased a second feeder since the first was always in use.

Not good for areas with Bears!

Pretty Bird Food Holders. I live in the Tahoe Basin and they lasted 2 days before Bear got to them, ripped them down and broke the glass inserts and bent the outside shell.

This DOES NOT hold 15 lbs. of bird seed. That said, I bought it in store and didn't know that was it's description.
It looks great and the birds really took to it quickly. I love that it is all metal/glass.
