Feeder works as advertised. 1 squirrel found out that he could lift the cover and get into the storage area. Solved by putting a strap around feeder.

Squirrel resistant but...

Definitely discourages squirrels but also almost all birds. They don't seem to like the slippery metal perch. Also, the seed bin is hard to open and close (poor latch design) and while the bin holds a nice amount of seed, its floor is flat so the seed in back never moves forward as what is in front is eaten. Very disappointing product.

Great Feeder, faulty assembly

I love this bird feeder - this is my 3rd one in about 20 years (first 2 destroyed by bears). but it was not completely assembled. The spring for one side of the spring-operated perch was just laying in the bottom of the box and the nut that holds it on was missing. Luckily we had the old feeder and got the nut from there. I took my husband and me 45 minutes to get the spring installed. Because the feeder is supposed to be completely assembled, there were no instructions! But the birds love it and it somewhat keeps the squirrels off.

Well built

I mounted the feeder on a post on my deck. The feeder is well built and will probably last for years. So far, only blue jays have discovered it but I'm hopeful other birds will spot it soon. It is spring and they will need extra food to feed their young. I only feed back oilers.
