Q: We end up with more sunflower seeds/millet on the ground than in the birds. This is incredibly wasteful, and since my flower garden is under the feeders, it makes a big mess in the spring. Will this feeder help reduce the waste?

- A: Hi RoMom, and thank you for your question regarding the More Birds Squirrel-X X-1 Squirrel-Proof Bird Feeder, 11. This feeder is rated to be squirrel proof based off of three main things: Materials Used, Design Features and Proper Placement. The key to keeping a feeder successfully squirrel-proofed is the placement. Place a bird feeder 4 feet from the ground and 8 feet from anything a squirrel can jump from. When hanging from a pole by a hook, it is recommended that the hook have at least a 16” distance from the pole. Placing a baffle on the pole or having a caged feeder will also help to ensure squirrel-proof success. So if placing your feeder in your flower garden meets these guidelines, then we think you will see much less seed waste, because the feeder will be fully squirrel proof! Absolutely stops squirrels

I bought this feeder about a week ago and was skeptical to say the least. I have been feeding birds / squirrels for years and had never found anything that would detour squirrels. I currently have one black squirrel, one red squirrels, and six or seven fox squirrels. This feeder works! My wife and I have seen several attempts but no squirrel got any seeds. Great product. It will pay for itself in a few months. If you are feeding birds and are pestered with tree rats buy one of these.

Took no time for the squirrels to chew the plastic off at the feed openings, thus create an ample seed supply without the issue of tripping the latch closed. IF the openings were enforced with a metal or aluminium shield this might have stood a chance. After two months it was trashed.

Poor wire quality / Breaks

1st feeder, the wire kept breaking and fortunately the falls did not break it a couple of times until the last time it then broke apart on a fall. Bought a new one and less than a couple months this wire broke AGAIN and the feeder shattered on the fall. Poor design / quality of wire / not strong enough.

We had one of these before. It lasted for years! When I went to replace it after a deer lassoed and ran away with it, I foolishly purchased a different feeder which neither deer nor birds used. So, back to TS to order the preferred feeder. The manager was so helpful and the new feeder was delivered to our home.
