Q: I have a problem. I ordered this swinging door latch because someone asked if it would fit a 3" door. He was informed that it would. My door is 2 7/8 thick and it does not come close to fitting. It will only fit up to a 2 1/4 inch door.

Keeps door secure and weather-resistant

This hardware came well greased and with descriptive instructions on the box. This was a great latch to add to my hunting stand door so that it is secure, lockable, and weather-resistant. The handles themselves could use a bit of smoothing, as they felt fairly sharp on the palm when turning.

Durable!

I used this swing door latch on out recently built shed. It is very durable. To install this was really easy and took almost no time at all. We live in Pennsylvania and winter has not ended here. The latch never froze up and work through our last few storms! I definitely recommend!

Extremely Heavy Duty

I have two gates. I placed this on my gate that sees the most traffic and it was more heavy duty than the gate itself. I have two small children, so this handle effectively kept them in the yard while allowing me easy access in and out with the turn of a handle. This latch feels to be of good quality metal. It survived a few rain storms without any signs of rusting. I'm keeping my eye out, but I don't think it will rust any time soon. The mechanism is smooth, no binding.
