Q: Does this unit work on cub cadet lt1018

- A: Yes this part will work on any 12V system which is what the LT1018 has, However the fit and ground wire may not be exact. There are elongated mounting channels to adapt to different fits. The ground wire can be attached to the existing ground or anywhere on the frame. Replacing this part involves electricity and can be dangerous, Please completely disconnect (positive & negative) the mower battery before doing this repair. If the customer is not familiar with electrical components, we urge them to seek out an authorized service provide to make the repair. Installing this incorrectly can result in further electrical damage or even injury.5 years agoHelpful?

Easy switch out part for my john deere e100. Came with the extra ground wire that I didnt need but can def. Find use for. I'm a woman and did the switchout in 8-10 mins. Easy and no surprises.

Failed after a few uses

I bought the solenoid to replace on on a model 140 John Deere on 03/04/2020. It worked fine but did not last long. Being a failure analysis electronics engineer, I took it apart to see why it failed after a few uses. I found the wires from the solenoid were soldered very tightly to to the terminals there was no way the wire could flex when the solenoid was energized. Thus the strain on the wire at the solder connection caused the failure. The manufacturer needs to change how the wires are soldered and allow some room for the wires to flex when the solenoid energizes.
