Q&As

1 - 2 of 2 Questions

Q: Can I use a 4 Post starter solenoid relay to replace a 3 post starter solenoid relay

1 Answer
  • A: Thank you for your question. In most cases, a 4-post starter solenoid cannot be used as a direct replacement for a 3-post solenoid without modification. The extra post on a 4-post solenoid is typically for a separate ground or auxiliary connection, while 3-post solenoids often rely on the mounting bracket for ground. Because of this difference, the wiring may not match up correctly, so it’s best to use a solenoid that matches the original configuration for proper fit and operation.

Q: Does this fit a john deere x340 denso?

  • A: Hello, thank you for your interest in the Oregon® brand. The 33-431 is not specified as a replacement for a Denso starter solenoid. While it would be possible to use it, the person doing the install would need a strong understanding of the electrical system of the John Deere tractor, and how to manually wire around the self-contained solenoid used on that application. For further assistance, we recommend speaking directly with one of our experts at Oregon® Technical Services. They handle calls like yours all the time and are ready to help you any way they can. You can reach them between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. PST at 1-800-223-5168, option 1. You can also email them at oregon.support@oregontool.com.
