Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Laying Birds We ordered 10 girl ISA Browns. They came timely and in great condition. 12 were sent and one died after 2 days. Probably from getting soaked in the water. They are healthy after a week and growing nicely. This type of bird lays well. We bought 12 last year and for most of the year we had approx 95% laying rate from them. So, we are adding 11 more to the flock. Birds tame up nicely and for the most part are pets. We let them out of the Chicken Yard just before noon to let them have free range over the big fenced in back yard. They get along well with our lab mix dog.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Healthy chickens I received my chicks one day earlier than tracking number indicated upon arrival 2 were dead, fortunately 12 were shipped and the 10 that were alive looked great. The chicks are in my barn with the premier one brooder plate since the hen I put them under changed her mind about being a mom after six hours. They are running around doing chick things in the brooder all are eating and drinking one developed very minor pasty butt I cleaned her up and she has been fine since.

Chicks are not vaccinated from the hatchery unless requested. This gives the buyer a choice to ask for vaccines or purchase medicated feed

I live in New England. Do we need to vaccinate ISA chicks?

Asked by: Bajwa
Thanks for the question. There are two primary vaccines for chicks and location is generally not part of the equation for determining the need for vaccines. Mareks is a vaccination that is generally used if the customer knows there is potential for mareks disease on their property. This is very rare so not a common vaccine requested. Cocci is a digestinal disease that can impact a chicken during its life cycle. This vaccine can be applied at day old to chicks or by purchasing medicated feed. If you wish to have this vaccine it is not suggested to vaccinate at day old AND use medicated feed as they will cancel each other out. We hope this helps you decide

How can I order mixed of both. Its live right? Chicks?

Asked by: Muzakkir
There are production packages as an option if you wish to choose an assortment of multiple breeds. If you wish to choose males and females together the unsexed option is the best
