- A: In general, power consumption will average 8-10 amps of power and spike near 16 amps. Usage of a dedicated 20 amp circuit will help prevent power outages and allow for proper freeze drying. (Power consumption will vary between models.)4 years agoHelpful?

Great Freeze Dryers

I have already preserved enough food for myself and extended family to last a year. And I have a large extended family! Also freeze dried all my veggies and fruit from this year’s large garden and orchard crop. Then all my excess eggs from my hens! Win Win!!Love my Harvest Right freeze dryers. Yes, I have 2 now. Was so happy with first, I got a second. With 2 units running, almost 24/7, I put up around 16 lbs of food per run. Cant beat the 25 year shelf life, and food tastes like fresh. .

We have a medium unit and we love it. We've freeze dried a variety of foods, some for snacking, some for storage, and some for travel. Everything has turned out great. Any issues have been quickly and satisfactorily resolved by the Harvest Right customer service crew.

Great work horse

We have had our freeze dryer for just over a month and it has been going nonstop. We have done fruits, veggies for food prep, rotisserie chicken, biscuits and gravy for camping, yogurt bites and candy for treats. The grandkids love the fruit the best. Great healthy snacks. The Harvest Right freeze dryer runs smoothly and easily. I highly recommend getting this freeze dryer. It’s a great size (medium)

Harvest Right freeze dryer is a must for preppers

Prepper food is expensive. We purchase all our food on sale or buy in bulk and freeze dry. The Harvest Right freeze dryer is easy to use. Not only are we saving meals for emergencies, we are reducing the amount of food stored in our freezers. I have lost hundreds of dollars during extended power outages after a hurricane. No food goes to waste. We freeze dry our leftovers adding variety to our diets.
If you are going to use your machine almost daily I strongly suggest purchasing the premier compressor. You must clean, change the oil in the other compressors a job I do not want to do every 12 or so batches.
