Harvest Right 4-Tray Medium Stainless Steel Home Freeze Dryer with Premier Pump & Mylar Starter Kit

This is heavy unit. Have help setting it up. I have freeze dried fish, roast, grilled chicken, tomatoes, pineapple, potatoes, cooked hamburger (patties and crumble), raw eggs, canalope, strawberries, cooked hamburger helper, split pea soup, candy (skittles for example) and more. The possibilities are endless. This unit is high quality and thankfully idiot proof. Easy to use touch screen. It is a 110 volt AC unit that draws an averag of 4-6amps constant. During the heating period, it does draw 12amps, so you have pay attention to what all is on the same circuit of a standard 15amp breaker. It does generate heat so it tends to heat/warm the room up that it sits in. I have run 23 batches through the machine and waited to write this review until I had something worth saying. It works. It works well. You will not be disappointed. I'm not disappointed. The price point is high, no doubt, but I am finding value in it. It will take me another 30 batches or so to break even on price compared to buying the same amount of freeze dried food pre-packaged. I give this unit a double thumbs up.

This is the second of two (2) machines I have. I've been very satisfied with the machine and the company.

We bought our medium st/st oil-free pump freeze HR dryer last year October but didn't actually start using it until the spring time as we have it out in our garage and so can't operate it during cold winter season. We have been so happy with it and so glad we decided to buy it. So far we have done about 20 or so batches to freeze-dry eggs, chili con carne, apple sauce, various fruit and berries and dillweed to name but a few things and everything has turned out beautifully. We haven’t tried freeze drying in jars yet but have been using the mylar bags and they are working great. In July we had a problem with our freeze dryer and my husband contacted Harvest Right and they in turn asked David Morrey to assist my husband. He was able to help us reset our freeze dryer as it should be. Since my husband works out of town two weeks at a time, David did a phenomenal job in working with my husband when he was home so that we could get our freeze dryer re-set. We not only got a fantastic machine but great service to go along with it. We are so happy with our decision to purchase this freeze dryer and very thankful we purchased a Harvest Right freeze dryer. I only wish we would have bought it sooner. This is one of our best purchases ever.
