One of the more cold hardy varieties, this attractive bush has glossy, leathery dark green foliage and an abundance of magnificently fragrant large white blooms. Has a more upright habit and more tolerant of direct sun light than other gardenias, with flower buds that resist late spring frosts without damage. Frostproof makes a wonderful hedge or foundation planting. Place close to outdoor living areas or entryways to enjoy the fragrance. Plant in mass to screen walls and fences or include with other fragrant bloomers in a container planting!

I like big plants...

...and I cannot lie! These beauties were ordered during the winter season as a present, and came wonderfully trimmed and very lush. I've ordered gardenia plants in the past from other retailers, but none as exceptional as these.

Dead on arrival to store

The plants were purchased online and shipped to store. By the 2 and half weeks time they were at my home they were dead. Tried to revive them, but they were beyond help. And I couldn't send them back because the Tractor Supply company wouldn't take them as it has passed the ridiculous 30 days return policy for plants that they have. It should apply for in store purchases only,, not online.

Wow, I'm impressed!

So, I ordered 5 of these on Tuesday. They shipped on Wednesday. A real person called me on Friday to tell me they had arrived at my local Tractor Supply. She said to call them to let them know I was on the way and they would be ready to load them for me. Being skeptical, I did not alert them, but rather went in and asked for them and had the clerk (who smelled a little funky) open the boxes for me to examine. All I could see was the tops of the plants and they looked like they might need some water. Got them home and relieved the plants of their confinement and found the were very nice! Four were in one box that had individual cells to keep them nice and cozy. The fifth was in a box by itself--again, sized to keep the plant protected. Other than needing water, the plants are awesome! Nice size, nice branching, healthy green. Ordering some false cypress now....
