Q: How well will these flourish in Zone 7a?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Neighbor! 1 gal. potted dormant roses from Tyler Rose Nursery will flourish very well in Zone 7a, as this zone offers the ideal moderate climate (0°F to 10°F) for growing roses. They are quick to establish, often blooming in their first year. For best results, plant in full sun, prepare to see them grow to 4-8 ft in height, and consider fall or early spring planting to avoid summer heat stress.

Q: How do I care for the dormant potted rose until planting?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Neighbor! Keep it in a cool, sheltered spot, watering only when the surface feels dry (approx. 1–2 times a week) to prevent dehydration. Avoid fertilizing while dormant, and once spring growth begins, move it to full sun, ensuring it is planted in a larger pot with drainage or in the ground.

Not worth the cheap price

If I could give a ZERO, I would. I bought 2 of these Feb 22, planted on the 24th. They grew very well, great growth with multiple bloom buds. 1 bloomed, then overnight the leaves started marbling. See pictures. This is a sure sign of Rose Mosaic Virus Complex. This virus complex has no treatment, no cure. The only thing you can do is dig them up & burn them!!! Also you must dig out the contaminated soil, clear out the mulch also. I have 21 rose bushes that I must protect, because this is a virus. It is transmittable. It's April 17th, I just spent my day digging them up & burning them

Yes, but…

Yes, good quality but beware if you think that the picture on the front of the packaging will be the same color as the rose inside think again! I purchased what appeared to be a beautiful yellow rose, (Golden Glow) which is exactly what I wanted however, it turned out to be a mauve rose. Disappointing because it stands out in my yellow rose bed. But I do have to say it’s pretty good quality. Especially for the price.

Rose colors are mis labeled

Was supposed to be blue, got yellow with a touch of coral, they are beautiful and the bush is doing great, it’s just not what I purchased, I wanted the blue one as I already have a yellow bush
