Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed I bought this wire to use for holding parts in an aluminum anodizing process. I just needed some aluminum wire at a reasonable price. This wire does the job, being made of aluminum. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Non-coated! I use this not for purpose intended. I needed a non coated aluminum wire to make tag stakes to mark plants with my metal embossing label maker. This is a good gauge, not too heavy and fairly soft and easy to work with. It has been very durable for the purpose. Work with it a lot your fingers will go silver/dull grey/metallic. Wash well and it will come off. It's just the oxidation of the aluminum coming off onto you. I contacted the company and it's a plain bare uncoated aluminum product, just to make sure. Do not use with or around food, but. For attaching the tags to trellises, loosely to a tree, or making a long twisted wire stab/tag holder, it's great. I'll recommend getting a roll for the average gardener. I also use it to tie trellis bits to each other, and to wire tarps to calf panels to make windbreaks. The value for the amount of wire you get is wonderful. I also started using it to make chain maille, to practice certain patterns and make samples. The wire works harder than dead soft or soft, and not as hard as half hard. It will work harden some. 17 gauge is between 18 and 16 so remember that when working with it, it won't be true to the other two sizes mentioned. It works a lot better than galvanized 16 gauge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Stuff! I don't know what I ever did without aluminum hotwire. It's worth the extra change because it doesn't rust. I use it mainly on the exterior property fence line to keep critterss out and to keep horses and goats in.
