- A: You will need 12 1/2 ga HT smooth wire to have enough surface area to carry that much voltage. Electricity runs on the outside surface of wire, bigger the wire, more current it will carry. Please see SKU 3615749 for this gauge wire.7 years agoHelpful?

- A: Only if you bury it in conduit, and absolutely seal the ends so no moisture can enter. This can be done using PVC conduit, with anle fittings on the ends. Bring it up with additional PVC well above ground level. Then seal the ends with silicone, exterior sealer. Then it may be run underground. Water is an insulator,but it is also a great solvent, so it dissolves salts, which are great conductors. So, do not put it into contact with the ground, you will short your fence.5 years agoHelpful?
