Rated 5 out of 5 by from Healthy little chicks Healthy little chicks. Only one passed after arrival, but shipping is hard on chicks. Very robust pullets now. I do wish there was a little more color variety between them, but they are still quite pretty.

How old are the chicks by the time they would make it to your home? 1 day? 4 day roughly?

Asked by: Hawkwarn
Per Hoover's: Chicks are shipped the day they are hatched and sent US Priority mail. No matter where chicks are shipped in the United States it will never take more than 48 hours to arrive. Most arrive no more than between 24-36 hours based on region.

I bought 10 "female" chicks. 8 survived, of those 8, four of them appear to be male. How do I solve this?

Asked by: TLCamp
Please call 641-323-6100 and we can help with this. We generally ship 12 chicks. It is extremely rare when ordering females to receive any males let alone half. Our sexing ration is consistently above 95% over a history of 75 years

Does this breed cohabitate with silkies very well? I was told hens do best in pairs, especially if their social breeds and was thinking about getting one of each to start. Would it work out?
