Champion Power Equipment 9200-Watt Portable Generator with Electric Start is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 226.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact for the output, nice, efficient This is great output for the price without getting too heavy/large. I was impressed with the build quality, it was easy to put on the wheels with cotter pins and the battery has a convenient rubber strap so no bolts to contend with. The gas usage is reasonable and should easily get through a night with the 7.7 gal tank. I ran a test light load for almost 9 hours on the amount of gas from a 5 gal gas can. With a full tank I imagine I could get up to 12 hours with light loads. I can run my geothermal heat pump 3 ton no issues if I don’t run other circuits using a 30 amp manual transfer switch. My compressor is rated 73 LRA. My main focus was to be able to run my electric water heater, well pump and some outlets/lights. I spent a lot of time researching gensets and contemplated larger units, but in the end I am glad this does the job and will save spending more money on a unit that would have been too heavy and large. This is perfect for backup purposes. Also can’t beat the fact that it has both pull and electric start. dont cheap out, this unit is fairly compact for its output. I recommend and good luck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent generator For a whole house generator that is somewhat portable you can't go wrong with this unit

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wanted one for years, hurricane prioritized purchase... We have a large RV that requires 50A hookup, so we've wanted a generator this size for a while that we can boondock as well as use for the occasional hurricane and thunderstorm induced North Carolina power outage. Hurricane Florence influenced my decision to purchase, but I was very pleased to see that my previous research accurately lead me to a very reliable, well built and solid generator. The only thing I would have preferred was dual fuel (propane) but I opted for this model because of its overall specs and portability. Love it so far!

Will this power my RV. Dual AC units, full size refrigerator and microwave?

Asked by: Mark806
A camper of your size is rated for 240V at 50A or 12,000 continuous watts max. This machine can supply 9,200 continuous watts to the camper. This will be enough to run both AC units and likely the fridge. However, it is possible you may need to power the water heater and fridge on LP and switch the AC sharing the circuit with the microwave to fan only while you cook. It just depends on how many other items you have running like entertainment and on board deep cycle battery charging for example.

What's the total harmonic distortion

Asked by: Nick 6928
These generators will put out the standard THD rating of 15% or less unless otherwise noted. They will produce a sine wave, not a modified or square wave. This is perfectly acceptable for running common commodities found in your home such as TVs, computers, your appliances, etc. THD is a measure of the deviation of a sine wave from a "perfect" sine wave. All electricity, including line electricity, has measurable THD. If you have a specific item that requires less than 5% THD such as a UPS style battery back up, a pellet stove or high efficiency furnace control board, we recommend the use of a line conditioner for these items.
