Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super easy to read and use Purchased this tester when we completed our fence for the horses. Love the big read out and the long grounding cord. Have used it over and over to test sections that needed repair from downed trees and such. Has always worked... even in the rain.

So on the DEFT-AFW tester do i cut the wire loop in half and strip wires back to use as tester because my wire is 1 piece.

Asked by: dave bmw
The silver prongs on the top of the tester should be placed on the fence line and the long probe should be placed in the ground. The wire does not need to be stripped. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-592-7322 for additional assistance.

Product came with no real situational directions. My deer fence is 8ft tall, so the 5 ft cord is way too short. My fence is solar, with different readings at different intervals of the 500 ft len, what do I check for the diff?

Asked by: OJT4
As long as there is at least 4,000-5,000 volts on the fence line at all times, the deer will be repelled. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-592-7322 with any questions or for additional assistance.

What is a good reading? Mine is displaying 89 at the meter and around 74 - 71 on the three fence lines but i get no shock when touching it?

Asked by: Kencanoe

Does this tester check solar chargers.

Asked by: rerun
Yes, this tester can be used to test the voltage output of AC, DC, or solar powered energizers. It can be used to either test the fence, grounding, or across the two terminals under no load.
