Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fence charge I bought his to charge a wire at the top of my fence to keep my Houdini dog in. Works great !

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well I bought this to keep my dogs from digging under the wooden fence of the dog run. I think each dog touched the fence once or twice and have not been back to digging since. Since it is not water proof, I have it mounted in a plastic container to keep the rain and snow off of it. I will be buying another one today for my garden to keep out the rabbits and ground hogs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For Small areas I bought this last spring to surround a chicken coop after the neighbor's dogs got my pullets and I had to clean up the mess/replace. I set the charger up inside an inexpensive plastic mailbox and have it connected to about 60 ft of electric poultry netting. So far, my chickens are still alive and it doesn't hurt my feelings to hear the neighborhood roaming dogs yelp in surprise.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ok for price - spend extra $20 to get 5 mile! I bought one in May 2012 - it lasted for a month. We thought it got struck by lightning. Tractor Supply replaced it for free since it was still under 1 year warranty. It is now August 2013 and that box had stopped working, and i'm out of the 1 year covered warranty. I saw the post below and realized that this box is NOT WATERPROOF - I did not realize this when i was buying it. This is probably why they wboth stopped working - we have this put on the side of a shed. I will be buying the 5 mile one today because it says it has a waterproof case. Hopefully that one lasts longer than a year!

Is this strong enough for a bear or horse? I have an apiary

Asked by: Kays48
Electric fencing is not recommended for bears. While we have several energizers that can be used for horses, we apologize as this unit is not recommended due to its level of output voltage. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-ZAREBA (1-855-592-7322) for further assistance.

I just installed this as an electric fence in my back yard, how long before the wire becomes "hot"?

Asked by: Sheshe5
When the charger is properly connected to the fence and plugged into the outlet, the fence line will be hot. Feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-ZAREBA (1-855-592-7322) for any troubleshooting assistance needed.

This should run to a hot wire, along with a ground line.
