Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked for a few minutes and then bent badly I bought this to pull a tree that was hung up in another tree. Ratcheted fine at first, moving the tree base as planned. Then the formed side brackets bent and it was done for. I think I can repair it. According to the instructions it bends like that when it reaches its load limit. However, in this and many uses I don't know how the user is supposed to know what load is being applied to the come-along. I calculate the tree weighed 1500 pounds and it was being dragged on its end. Shouldn't have been 4000 pounds of force applied. It would be nice if they had some type of non-destructive load limiter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A versatile, quality tool Had to replace 150' of barbed-wire fence due to a range fire. This cable puller was invaluable in stretching the wire. It is sturdy and reliable and allowed me to complete the job solo. However, the instructions could be a little better written and illustrated re safe release of tension.

How do I freewheel letting the cable out with a TT4000? Thus far all I can do is ratchet it out one click at a time.
