Pretty much all of the logs have splits/cracks in them. The swing seems to be solid despite the cracks, but I am concerned that the cracks will enable water to get into the wood and speed up rotting,

Very dangerous!

Not safe cheap product! All the beams have deep cracks in them. Probably from where the bolts go through. Looks like they thought using washers would solve that. It didn't. Cracks are at least half way through. This is on the top beam and both sides. Would never let anyone sit on it. Expensive yard ornament. The stain & sealant are the cheap, thin, spray on type that doesn't last more than a year. Cheap piece of garbage. I expect more from TSC. Bought several years ago and just now got around to putting it together.
No, I do not recommend this product.
