Good coop and pen setup for the sale price. I bought this simply for the coop itself as I am establishing my silkie breed program and have purchased other plastic coops from Nestera that are very similar to this one. I purchased the grey color that is Tractor Supply specific and quite like the color. This is easy to assemble and durable. The pen is ok if you intend to use it however, I will be pairing this up with another chicken pen that I can walk into and give the chickens more space. One thing to mention, as with all coops, make sure this is in the shade and not in direct sun. In order to be predator-resistant it needs to be enclosed which means most ventilation is limited so make sure it is out of the sun.

This coop is very sturdy and secure. Putting it together was straight forward. Only issue I have is it gets pretty hot inside during the day.

Worst product ever. Killed 2 of my 5 new chickens on the very first day we had it. Cooked them. No ventilation. I bought 2 of these and they are worthless. Going to make modifications by adding fans. They are not easy to clean. My old wooden was much easier to clean.

Coop is more sturdy than I expected. Do not like the super smooth floor of coop as chickens slip on it even with lots of bedding, but, yes, will be super easy to clean. Constructive suggestions for Hoover: 1)Will not, by any measure, fit 10 standard sized chickens. Interior of coop is 9.75 sq. feet, so less than the commercial standard (and far less than humane) of 1 sq. ft. per bird. 2) 3 roosts is not reasonable. Front roost is 8" from front wall, middle roost is 8" from front and back roosts. given the dimensions of coop, 2 roosts would fit, would need to remove middle roost and move front roost a few more inches away from front of coop for there to be adequate roosting space between wall/roosts. Unfortunately, Hoover needs to do this as the holes are pre-drilled. (and/or extend size of coop) 3) I would make the coop proper about 6 inches longer, and 3-4 inches wider, and it would then fit 6 hens....but larger run still needed. 4) NEST BOX: really, 11"x11" for a standard size hen?? I would widen the nest box area 3=4 inches (with the widening of the coop), AND make the nest boxes 1-2 inches deeper. this would give a 12"x12" or 12"x13" nest box size, which would be more suitable for a heritage sized Barred Rock or Orpington. I am only using 2 roosts, and removed 1 of the nest box dividers. I am using it as a grow-out coop (with my own added pen + theirs for more space) for 5 extra hatched cockerels. Coop is still small, but it is for sleeping only, and one sleeps in a nest box, and my own run (That I made & attached) is covered, so they have, with my modifications, plenty of covered space to get out of rain, etc. This works for me/for now. Would not work for the winter, but they won't still be here then.
