Q: I bought this to use in a kerosene heater. I've never used such a heater before, but instructions say it should have a "half-inch" yellow flame. The blue flame is at least inch high (in dark room to see it) with the wick all the way down. What's wrong?

Q: My question is does it last longer than regular kerosene by using the same amount with the either one. So if I put one gallon of kerosene or used one gallon of klean heat. Does one last longer than the other.

- A: Crazytrain78 - Klean Heat Kerosene Alternative is a more highly refined kerosene. Klean Heat is not intended to burn longer but with less smoke and odor. Fuel additives and pouring the product outdoors into the appliance can further reduce the level of smoke and odor. Nearly all solvents or fuels still have an odor. Honestly, I bought this because I have arthritis and couldn’t manipulate the safety features on my kerosene can. Was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t stink up the house like regular kerosene and I can use the empty container to get kerosene if I need to. Just wish they would carry the 2.5 gallon.
