Reviews

Ingersoll Rand 5 HP Single-Stage Twin Cylinder Pro Air Compressor, 60 gal. is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 343.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not just a over priced air pump. This has completely finished my garage tool kit. So far it has ran quiet, fills air tank with air at a fast pace, and was almost ready to run air tools after purchase. Their was some not obvious features I will state about. #1. Air outlet is at a 45 degree angle in down direction causing the connections for the air dryer, oiler, and regulator, a plumbing nightmare finding hardware at store that sold compressor for 1/2" air supply.. #2. Expensive hardware for #1. Over $300 to angle in Item #1 ( air hose, pipe, regulator, oiler, and dryer. Other than Item 1 and 2, it does perform exactly what I wanted and the overall price for what I needed was cheaper than other not name brand air compressors, I needed 11.2 SCFM and had to pay the price. Completely satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New compressor, overjoyed I purchased the air compressor as my torpedo compressor failed, right in the middle of laying in our new hardware floor in our kitchen. A bit large for most homeowners, but I have a lot of pneumatic tools, some require a large CFM to work properly. I am retired so my hobbies have taken over. A neighbor came over, we unloaded, I installed regulators and filters. The first set were from a big box store. Wrecked my floor nailer. The pressure varied from 55 to 95 PSI that I saw, who knows the actual variences. I then bought the IR filter, regulator and oiler. The pressure holds stable, my tools are happy, and so is my wife and daughter. It is much quieter than the torpedo compressor that failed, it was also 240vac 1ph. I am going to build a box with ample vents around it to keep my working area neater, and to drop the noise a bit more.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Home Shop Compressor Works well and supplies enough CFM for every hand tool available. Fills tank from empty to 135 PSIG in about 2.5 minutes. I bought this thinking the quality would be better than many around the same price. Assembled in USA and the red and white sticker used to mean quality right? Unit leaked air from the top bushing and threaded brass connection at valve. Had to remove all electrical and pressure lines to remove fittings and repipe. Factory believes a thin o ring will seal and it does not! Compressors are made in China or India, mine was made and India. Motor from China. It appears the tank is good USA steel and welded well. The tank may be the best part of the unit! I am hopeful it will last for years. Where is the USA craftsmanship IR???

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Way less cycling than my old 20 gal compressor! Well built compressor,no leaks after set up,cut out pressure more like 120 psi,and it is loud like other reviews previously have said but mine is in the back of my garage so it’s not a major issue...

Questions & Answers

Can an 80 gallon auxilliary tank be added to this unit.

Asked by: dpotenz
An Auxillary Tank can be paired with the primary unit but you will need to install a one way check valve between the two tanks so that the pressure doesn’t back feed toward the primary unit.

I need to change the electric motor on my compressor. It stops running at 50 lbs of pressure. I believe the pressue switch malfuntioned. I have had it for a couple of years so no warranty, I believe. Information for the motor appreciated.

Asked by: Gerry69
Per the manufacturer: This issue appears to be a bad pressure switch. For this product, the pressure switch part number is 23474661-R (TSC SKU # 1076470).

What size wire and breaker do I use?

Use a #8 Gauge wire up to 50 feet. If you require a longer wire, please consult an electrician. In regards to the breaker sizing, due to the various local laws and wire differences we do not recommend breaker sizing.
