DuroMax 16,000 Watt V-Twin Tri Fuel Portable Digital Inverter Generator

Just bought the DuroMax XP16000iHT and had an interlock kit, 50-amp inlet, 3/4" natural gas quick-connect installed, as well as a soft-start installed on my 3-ton A/C. The generator started right up the first time and powers the house easily with the A/C running. I plan on only using natural gas to run the generator so I'm very glad I bought this one over the DuroMax XP11000iHT because I didn't want to run at a full load or limit what appliances I could use simultaneously on natural gas. The XP11000iHT would have been fine if I were using gasoline, but I have learned over the years in hurricane country that natural gas is a more reliable fuel source than gasoline - and you don't need to drive anywhere to get refills! The XP16000iHT has all of the features you would want and, because it's an inverter, the power is clean so I don't expect any issues running computers and other electronics. I also really like the control center because it's very easy to read load, voltage, and hours. Battery tender is nice too. All-in-all a fantastic portable inverter generator, especially if you want to power an average size house. Well done DuroMax!

Received the generator two days ago and did a test run today. Instructions were very clear and setup and startup were a breeze. After I connected the load through my existing transfer panel, I turned on almost every light in the house, and the generator didn't even need to comevout of the low idle mode. Even when I was running at high rpm, it was appreciably quiter than our old Generac.

Starts right up. I’m running mine on propane but appreciate the flexibility of being able to use gasoline or natural gas. Easy to maintain. It’s heavy but moves well on the oversized wheels and handles.

I purchased this model in Jan,2026. We were going to use nat. gas but that was going to cost a lot for the instal and the power rating droped off. So we went with LP gas instead . I'm going to do the "break in" run this weekend. The inital start up went fine , no problems. Did I mention how quite it is !!
