Q: WillThis charge a E-bike battery

1 Answer
  • A: I do not know what the e-bike requires. The simple thing to do to find out is to take the AMPS X VOLTS X 2.5= surge wattage. Do not go over the specified 1,000 surge watts.

Very LOUD - 76-80 dB with a meter

This is the lightest generator made, but it is false advertising on the noise level. Using a certified meter it shows 76-80 dB so that is about 4x louder than advertised (every 10 dB is double). Oil dipstick is non-standard thread at 18 x 1.5 whereas ALL ALL the other small generators and aftermarket magnetic dipsticks and pour tubes are the standard 18 x 2.5 thread. Shame on Sportsman for using fine thread instead of coarse thread like everyone else. This also makes the plastic dipstick very easy to cross-thread.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Size and weight for limited power needs is great.

Pretty happy with this little guy. I mainly got this to supplement my power needs when out in the boonies with my 400 watts worth of solar panels. Solar is great.... when it's sunny. Not so great when its overcast and hence this little guy. He lives in my Jeep right behind the rear center console and fits perfect right there. Since I work summers in a State Forest and live out of camp sites, this guy makes sure I have at least some power when I can't use my solar panels or output is low. While the size works very well and is not overly loud, the rated 800 watts seems to be wishful thinking. It seems to be more like 700 watts. But the economy mode works well to keep the power output to what is needed. It has not fried my power stations or battery's so that's good. So far so good! I only carry 1.7 gallons of fuel for it my gear and that has been more than enough for the 5ish hours of running out putting somewhere in the 500-600 watt range that I needed to use this last week.

A wise choice.

I bought one years ago. I have larger ones but having a small gas sipper and a quiet one is wise. Sometimes a large generator is overkill. This will also charge 12 Batteries while power a power strip for other things. The bad thing is that the cost has gone up $100 in the last few years. Still worth it. I use this one the most.
