I like the fit and feel of this boot. Another reviewer noted that the bottom one of the metal loop eyelets rubbed on his ankle but fixed the problem by skipping over those eyelets when lacing the boot. I found the same thing to be true. Excluding that set of eyelets from the lacing pattern doesn’t seem to affect the feel and security of the boot top, except that it’s more comfortable. I like the way the boot opens up when the laces are loose; it allows me to blouse my pants leg with no problem. I did find the laces would easily fall out of the top metal loop eyelets when fully unlaced, so I glued some sufficiently large beads on the lace ends. This allows the laces to be fully loose but easily grabbed at the top eyelets when tightening the laces. I’ve only worn the boots about a week, so can’t speak to how they will hold up.

Absolutely fantastic boot! Tough, breathable, and zero break-in. The boot is lined and so well made I can wear them barefoot!
