Great stall fronts

we ordered the galvanized and installed them in our existing barn. They fit great on the 12' centered 6 x 6 posts. They had them in the barn where our horses were and we liked them there. They had the painted ones and we decided that for the cost having the galvanized would be better for us. We installed tongue and groove in the fronts and they look great together. Everyone loves them who comes in our barn.

Not bad for pre-built

Only a couple issues with the design. First, 2x6s don't fit evenly in it. You've got to notch one where the feed door drops down, and rip one so there's not a big gap. About the feed door... look closely at the photo. See how it tapers UP toward the hinge side? You've got to cut them for the shortest part, and that makes the couple closest to the end a little sloppy. Don't know why it's not paralell to the floor? But, overall, the construction is solid, and they are very well built. I've had 4 sets for almost 5 years and they are still in great shape. The door opens and closes easily, still. Other than those minor design flaws, and they are minor, the only other thing I had to modify was the feed door latch. It should have a spring to keep it in the locked position. My goofy horse could open it and somehow squeeze himself through it to get out. Amazing he didn't get hurt. I fabricated a spring latch and haven't had any escapes since.
If you're getting these for an existing barn, don't be supprised when they don't fit a 12x12 space. Check the actual length of these panels.
