Sleeping Bags
Life Out Here may take you all over the bush, but eventually, you’ll have to make camp. The right sleeping bag can be the comfort you need after a long day, helping you stay warm and cozy, whatever the climate. Pick up the one that’s right for you by shopping at Tractor Supply before your next outing.
All-Weather Protection for The Great Outdoors
Whether you’re staying a hot summer night or two in a pop-up or truck-bed tent, or sleeping out under the stars in the winter chill, you can get the right sleeping bag for your needs here. Ours feature:
Adventure-Ready Materials
Many are comprised of a synthetic shell, containing natural down or artificial insulation in its lining for warmth. Shells are typically comprised of lightweight nylon or polyester, both of which are durable in a variety of sleeping situations and often water-repellent. This makes them ideal for use in light rain or on moist ground. For a more tear-resistant option, choose a bag with ripstop fabric, but if you’re out in especially soggy conditions, you might want one that incorporates Pertex or Gore-Tex.
For a liner, if you want to run light and carry something more compressible, go with goose or duck down. Synthetic liners, on the other hand, may trap heat better, especially when wet.
Designs for Every Season
Most of our sleeping bags are rectangular or envelope-shaped, made for spaciousness and, often, to be opened and used similarly to blankets. Others are more snug-fitting and designed to retain optimal heat. Choose among several types:
- Backpacking sleeping bags: Similar to bed rolls, these sleeping bags are lightweight and easily tucked in your travel bag, making them great for frequent hikes in temperate weather.
- Summer sleeping bags: Designed for short campouts in warmer climates, summer designs are not only breathable but spacious.
- Three-season sleeping bags: These bags are suitable for outdoor sleeping during the spring and autumn seasons, plus mild winters, keeping you comfortable in a range of temperatures.
- Winter sleeping bags: Well-fitting and made with heavy insulation, these are rated for use in some of the most frigid temperatures.
FAQs About Our Sleeping Bag Selection
Which sleeping bag is right for me?
That depends on what climate conditions you'll be outdoors in, how much room you have in your pack and how heavy of a load you're willing to carry. The bag should be rated for the proper temperature: 30 degrees Fahrenheit for summer, 15 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit for three-season and below 15 degrees Fahrenheit for winter. For warmth, you may prefer one with a down liner, but if more room and better moisture-resistance are what you’re going for, a rectangular bag with a synthetic lining is recommended.
How do I maintain my sleeping bag?
Always begin by reviewing the manufacturer’s instructions and following them carefully. Generally, you can launder it regularly to help its shell and insulation last longer, but avoid excessive washing, especially if the bag is down-lined, and only use specified detergents. To help prevent mildew and odors building up, store the bag in a cool, dry place.
