This 32-ton full-beam high-powered wood splitter is sturdy enough and powerful enough to handle heavy-duty log splitting jobs. The patent-pending U-beam design is significantly stronger and more durable than the typical I beam found elsewhere. Powered by a Briggs and Stratton CR950 engine, and ergonomically designed for optimal performance, safety and ease of use, this horizontal and vertical log splitter cuts through wood effortlessly and efficiently, log after log. The size and weight make it a great option for frequent towing. Other features included as standard are protective log cradles on both sides, solid stamped steel fenders.

  • Patent pending U-Beam structural design is significantly stronger than typical l-Beam design.
  • Pair of log cradles - Adjust to one of two positions, with option for mountable log table.
  • Longer table length to accommodate up to 26.5" logs.
  • Oversized hydraulic components provide the shortest cycle time in its class.
  • Hydraulic oil filter is mounted inside the reservoir, eliminating damage from falling logs and operator entanglement.
  • Dual end cylinder support for equal weight distribution and wear reduction.
  • Beam handle offers easy transition from a horizontal to a vertical position.
  • Log stripper mounted to end of hydraulic cylinder to remove tough log jams.

Better than my homemade splitter

ThisYardmax log splitter was bought to replace a 40 year old home made splitter. My homemade splitter worked off the hydraulic system on my big farm tractor. The problem is that the control valve was on the tractor so it took a second person to stand 8 feet away and use the valve. I can now operate the unit by myself. In addition, the big tractor drinks a lot more fuel than the new splitter. I have been splitting both Douglas fir and Black oak and only a couple times has the hydraulic pump had to “gear down” to the high pressure setting. One of the amazing things about this splitter was the way it was packed. For something this heavy it is a difficult job to have it secured so that it arrives without damage. The unit was packed to make assembly as easy as possible. Between the way it was packed and the instructions the splitter was assembled in a couple of hours. The ONLY hard part was standing up the beam/cylinder. That part of the unit is extremely heavy. Rather than take a chance on dropping it I raised it with the loader bucket on my farm tractor. The advantage to this is that once it was raised and secured to the loader bucket no one had to hold it. The instructions were probably the best step by step concise instructions I have ever had. I have not done a lot of splitting yet but I have made maybe half a cord of Douglas fir and Black oak. The Doug fir was around 12” diameter and I split it with the machine in the horizontal position. The oak rounds were about 30” diameter and I changed the configuration to vertical. The splitter never changed to the high pressure pump for the fir and even though the oak had a lot of twists and knots it only changed to high pressure once or twice. My old unit would have had a lot of trouble with the worst of the oak but this guy plowed right through it. The only complaint I have is with the support leg. With the fairly robust hitch weight it would have made hitching up to my tractor ball a lot easier if the support leg was the type that could be jacked up and down. That would also be a big help getting the unit level on uneven ground.
