Landworks 20 Ton Gas-Powered Horizontal Hydraulic Log Splitter

After assembly and topping off all fluids, this splitter started on the third pull. The hydraulic tank dipstick showed oil after about 1.5 gallons, but after warming up the engine and cycling the ram several times to purge air from the system, I topped it off with another 0.5 gallons for a total of 2 gallons of hydraulic oil. Engine oil remained at an acceptable level throughout. The manual lists a maximum log diameter of 16 inches, but for my very first split, I tested it with a well-seasoned 20-inch diameter log. It went through without the slightest hesitation (see photos). Performance so far has been excellent, and it feels like it has plenty of reserve power for tougher jobs. I’m giving it four stars instead of five due to shipping. While the exterior box showed no signs of damage, the included funnel was broken (not a big deal since I wasn't expecting one to be included, and I have plenty) and the cylinder head cover arrived with cosmetic dents—likely from something heavy coming loose inside the package. Functionally, neither issue affects operation, but it’s worth noting. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this splitter’s power and build quality. If shipping care improves, it’s easily a five-star product.

Easy to assemble and pleased with the way it runs. Does the job. The only downside was the shipping box was so mangled that the plastic fuel funnel and dipstick were smashed into tiny pieces. The axel was sticking out of the box and the bottom plate that attaches to the primary beam was bent. Hubby is a mechanic and was able to repair the damage. Manufacturer needs to do better with packing product. Shipping company needs to be more careful.

I bought this log splitter at a lower price due to it being returned. it looks as if it had been dropped. one wheel was dented. plus whoever put it together didn't check to see if any bolts were loose. major hydraulic leak at the neck connection under the piston. after tightening every nut that was not tight and double checked. draining some of the oil because it was over filled. I did a test and has had no more leaks and it split the wood just fine. i also got the 1 year warranty just in case.

This splinter works great and I’m very pleased with its simplicity and ease of operation. The engine starts on the first pull. I only had one issue with the purchase. When delivered, the shipping box had some damage. After assembly, I noticed damage at the threaded portion of the hydraulic filler neck (slight deformation due to impact) along with rough threads. I was able to lightly dress this area and install the cap.
