Best log splitter for the money

Great machine to help process wood without having back pain issues the log lift doesn't have an issue picking up heavy oak logs and splitting them the adjustable wedge is a game changer for being able to keep consistent splitting sizes when i first used the machine i was able to EASILY SPLIT A CORD OF WOOD IN A HOUR

The log splitter was easy to assemble, I have split some very large logs which is what I bought this tool for and it split then with ease. I like the 6 way for medium logs if the log is really big like many of the ones I am splitting it makes for more uniform pieces to use the 4 way head and just do the two halves again, once they're done switch to the 6 way and just keep rolling. I stack several logs on the lifter and split them one behind the other and let the next log push them off the tray and into the trailer. Time will tell, but so far for the money this log splitter is great for what it costs. I do think keeping up the maintenance will be absolutely critical to the longevity of the machine. It is a China made machine, but unfortunately in this day and time what isn't?

Still breaking it in

Assembly was straight forward, instructions were good. One of the bearing caps had some irregularity in the chrome plating which was the only minor problem. It would be way easier with two people but probably less than a two hour job by myself.
The engine/ hydraulic pump shakes a lot which I thought might be some air in the system but it hasn’t gone away. Maybe that is normal? The log lift goes up and down with a very fast jerky motion, maybe I can slow that down.
I don’t know how long the jack will hold up the supporting this machine and I notice other brands have a much more robust support for the machine
I split a half cord quickly and easily.
And lastly the wheels are smaller than it seems they should be for towing but it is a great excuse to not loan it out.
Anyway, split a half cord in a very short time while on the learning curve and it did save on labor and my back.

Well made but more splitter than most people need.

I have only used it briefly. Splitter appears well made and is very heavy. It is bigger than I need, but I wanted the lift feature. It would be nice if the lift feature was available on smaller splitters. The motor started on the first pull 3 of 4 times. The 4 and 6 way wedges are nice.
