It comes with an integrated log cradle to help secure the logs and features an 8 in. wedge for splitting either horizontally or vertically. The ground stand helps provide a stable work surface while splitting, and the fast cycle time allows you to tackle more cords per hour. For easy maneuvering, this log splitter sits on D.O.T. approved tires and can be towed up to 45 MPH. The 2 in. ball coupler extended tongue hitch fits most ATV/UTV towing applications. Poor wedge slide design

Bought this unit from Tractor Supply. After 10 minutes of splitting wood, discovered the wedge was destroying the main bar as it slid across it. After further investigation, realized it a very cheap and poor design. There's so much vertical clearance from bottom of wedge slide and the main bar it slide across that the wedge is actually angled down so just the horizontal leading edge dis into the bar. The other issue I noticed is the wedge slide is totally encased in track guides in the return postion. That means that wood debris cannot fall off the man bar so it ends up much a garbage compactor action, creating undue stress & pressure on the cylinder. I returned the unit and TS refunded my $$ w/o any hassle. The other splitters they had on hand were of the same design so I passed on purchasing another unit.

worked great. we have a used 22 ton model but this one is nearly exactly the same. Split 6 fallen 70' tall cherry trees with ease. There wasn't a round we had that it wouldn't split (including 18" in diameter ones from the base of the trunk). Would highly recommend to anyone with a lot of wood to split at home!

XPO shipping said it would arrive on a Monday never came . Then called Tuesday to deliver and said they couldnt deliver due to it coming in a tractor trailer . They said i had to arrange to pick it up myself after i paid almost 400 dollars shipping. So i had to cancel the order . Do tractor supply why chareg shipping for something that will never get shipped to purchaser . Would not recommend online purchases.

My log splitter faled catastrophically the first time i used it. The wedge dug into the guide channel. It broke the bolt that attached the wedge to the hydraulic shaft. The motor also failed under the strain. I made a warranty claim with the manufacturer (YTL) about 3 months ago. I have still not received my parts and there seems to be no end in sight. The manufacturer of the engine sent a replacement right away but I still have a log splitter that I cannot use. I would give this item a 0 stars if it were an option.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I split cherry, oak, and balsam and it worked great. Some lengths were nearly to the limit and larger diameter and it never slowed down. Split it all with ease. I wish I had bought it years ago.
