I’ve had my eye on one of these steamers to go on top of our heating stove to help with humidity during the colder months. Usually, I fill a stainless steel pot & let that do the trick. Recently I had some TSC rewards expiring so I treated myself to this cute chicken shaped water steamer. 1st point is that it’s called United States Stove Co, but is made in China. It touts a 1 year warranty. I followed the included instructions to set up on my stove. Within the 1st day of use, rust was already forming within the pot. I contacted the US stove co customer service to inquire if this was a warranty issue, or if I could treat it as I would any iron cookware & clean & then season the metal, as I didn’t want to void the warranty by performing things outside of the instructed care sheet. The customer rep said to clean it & season it, which I did - & removed the rust, heated & coated with oil to seal & protect it. This procedure has worked for the most part, however, there are still some spots of rust forming even with the seasoning. I will clean again & season once more to hopefully stop the rust from progressing. In my opinion, for the Price point on this item is pretty high & the instructions say Nothing about seasoning the pot, this item is more frustration than it’s worth and does not perform up to expectations. I would have been better off saving my money and continuing to use a stainless steel pot on my heating stove to evaporate some moisture.

Rusts so believe it is not coated as stated. Still it fits on top the stove well and it suits my needs this year.

Good product could be larger so you would not have to add water so often.

Looks good but lid does not fit good and it is rusting on the inside.
