Very Good Price

This cast iron kettle is a great buy and will last for many life times if you will do one thing after you buy it, properly treat the cast iron. I found it is best to use Crisco in the can and rub a thin amount all over the kettle inside and out. Make sure you catch every bit of cast iron. Don’t need to worry about the shinny steel handle. Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees or better yet if you have an outdoor gas grill adjust your heat to about 325 to 350 degrees. Close lid. The gas grill outside is actually the best because the Crisco will smoke some as it bonds to the cast iron. Let the kettle stay in the oven or grill for one hour. Let cool fully and you have now bonded and cured your cast iron. You should try and do this once a year to keep it from rusting

Rusts after one week
I had previously been using a sauce pan on top of my woodstove to get some moisture into the house. I purchased this kettle because I wanted something that looked nicer. After one week the kettle started rusting. By the end of two months the entire thing was rusted inside and out. It even transferred rust to the top of my 3000 dollar woodstove. I now have to repaint my 2 year old woodstove. This kettle went into the garbage and I'm back to the sauce pan, I would never buy one of these again.

Nope. Don’t do it.
I did not season this and I swear the description said I didn’t need to… it rusted immediately. I bought a trivet to go with it in case it did rust, I didn’t want rust on my brand new wood stove. I have had my wood stove up to 900° and this kettle does NOT blow steam at all. The water doesn’t even bubble inside? I even turned the trivet over so it was right up against the stove. Still, no steam. Lame. It looks pretty. That’s it.

Great Quality!
I have wanted one of these for a long time I finally ordered it on line because I never see them in store. It is very good quality heavy cast iron. I have it on top of my fire place and I love seeing the steam come out, very good humidity...it works very well and fits a lot of water into it. I love it.
