For years I have been feeding my varied flock Nutrena feeds. Recently I signed up for a coupon to try your Purina. Wow, what a difference! From the moment i opened the bag I could tell the feed had a nice smell and rich looking crumbles. My birds devoured them the first day of filling their feeders despite the fact they always ate pellet. I realize this feed is 2.50 higher per bag than competitors but really that is not alot when you know you are feeding quality. My chickens, turkeys, peacocks, ducks and geese are more than livestock they are part of the family farm..

Not for growing ducks

I asked for feed that was specifically for ducklings. Feed store sold me Purina Flock Raiser. Has picture of small duckling on front. About 3 weeks into feeding one of the ducklings couldn't walk well, a few days later, it could barely stand. Legs don't look right. Spoke with duck expert from Bush Gardens. Duckling is suffering from Niacin Deficiency. This food does not have enough Niacin to support rapid bone development in ducklings. Duck will need to be put down. :( Recommended Mazuri WaterFowl instead.

It was the first time I bought Flock Raiser, hoping that it would be easier for my adult and young chicks to eat the same feed. I still needed to have two separate feeding places . But the product was like powder . So I went back on my next trip for feed to get the layer pellets for my adults and the starter grower for the chicks.
