I just received my 2 day old chicks. This is the food that I purchased for them. Is this all they need to eat or do I need to have other food and things for them? At what age should I move them to adult food?

Asked by: JadenRosesMom
This product is all your chicks will need until they are 18-20 weeks of age, or start laying eggs (whichever comes first). Then, you will transition them to one of our Purina Layer diets.

Can you feed this to baby peachicks?

Asked by: KHeddesh
Your baby peafowl should eat a Gamebird starter diet initially. We suggest the Purina Gamebird Startena until they are 6-8 weeks of age.

Can this product be fed to ducklings? I've read conflicting information and don't want to feed something that will harm the birds.

Asked by: DuckDaddy
Thanks for choosing Purina. The Flock Raiser or the Duck Pellet in the 5 lb. bag would be what we suggest for young ducklings. They will have different nutrient requirements than the young chick; one difference is the higher protein requirement a duck needs to support the faster growth.

Plz tell me what will happen to my horses. They got into this chicken feed. Do I need to call a vet?

Asked by: Jennifer1739
The medication, Amprolium, is not toxic to horses. However, the amount the horse ate can be an issue for colic or other situations such as laminitis. Please contact your veterinarian and let them know the amount possibly consumed at one time. If your veterinarian has any additional questions, have them call our toll free number 800-227-8941 and we will get them in touch with someone within our equine nutrition team.
