Enhance your landscape with the Pirtle Nursery 3.74 gal. Jonamac Apple Tree in #5 Pot. The Jonamac Apple is a cross between a Jonathan and McIntosh apple, sweeter than the McIntosh in flavor, deep red in color with a little green peaking through. Its firm flesh and crisp sweet/tart flavor make it excellent for fresh eating and dessert making. This medium sized apple's spicy tartness will leave a good impression. The Jonamac apple requires 700-800 chill hours and a cross-pollinator such as a Fuji, Honeycrisp or Gala tree planted nearby. An easy addition to your edible landscape, the Jonamac Apple tree will delight for many years to come with its moderately vigorous crops. So start growing your very own apples today with this beloved fruit tree!

  • Includes 1 Jonamac Apple tree in a #5 pot (3.74 gal.) and detailed planting instructions

    Good tree with tasty fruit

While Jonamac is susceptible to scab, the tree itself is healthy and proving to be productive. Other trees are not faring well due to cedar rust but it is relatively unaffected. The fruit is crisp, tasty, and attractive.

    No graft

I was so excited to see this tree that I didn't inspect it as closely as I should have. After I got it home and went to plant the tree, I realized that it was growing in it's own roots, as the graft had long since been buried. This tree will not live for long.
