Best tree trimming tool I've ever owned. With care, it should last a lifetime. The razor sharp blade slices through small limbs with a few effortless strokes. Larger limbs take a big more elbow grease but drop almost as fast as using a chain pole saw. Big tough hook makes yanking down cut limbs easy and fast. Makes my old Fisker's pole saw obsolete. These fiberglass poles are a useful length (6/12/18 feet) for most jobs, and when assembled have no more sway than a telescoping pole. It does require a real effort to lift up the lever that allows insertion of another pole, so I use a small screwdriver to assist. I'd also suggest using a pair of bungee cords wrapped at either end to carry all 3 poles together.

To be fair, I did use it with all 3 poles, but it was pretty difficult to maneuver and manage, and will probably not use the third pole ever again. 2 poles is great and of course 1 pole is excellent. I'm a 50 year old female and felt very comfortable using it and was able to accomplish what I wanted, but I have always been pretty strong as well as persistent. If you aren't as strong, or you get overwhelmed and give up easily, this probably isn't for you if you're a female. 1 pole was pretty easy, and probably everyone could use, like even when I'm older and not as strong, I think 1 pole will still be easy. 2 poles was a bit difficult to manage, but still tolerable. Using the 3rd pole, I cut limbs about 4 inches thick, but it was extremely difficult and I had to stop halfway through because it was wearing me out enough that I had to finish after an hour break. I probably will not use the third pole ever again because it was probably more than I can handle and probably not safe because of that. The blade is extremely sharp and cuts great when you get the rhythm of it going properly.
