Rated 5 out of 5 by from Little Giant Plastic Nesting Box I have purchases several of these nesting boxes within the last few years. They are still holding up well, even in our freezing winters here, and the chickens have no problems using them. I like the slanted top of the box as the chickens can't stand on top of them and make a mess. I also like the pull-out stand so the chickens can get inside the box. They are made of one-piece molded plastic and there is nothing to assemble. I easily installed them using screws and 1" washers to keep the boxes from coming off the wall. This is the only type of nesting box I will buy, as the wooden boxes I once used eventually came apart.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice design & sturdy I bought 3 of these for my coop. Easy to put up and keep clean. Only problem is the size. My smaller hens use them but My larger hens won't go in them. wish there was another size up for my bigger girls to fit in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these nesting boxes! I bought 2 of these. They are so easy to mount and clean plus no sharp edges to possibly injure. Very sturdy. Great value.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Little Giant Nesting box I purchased one as an extra nesting box because sometimes there's a back up in line at the nesting box in the coop and my old chickens sometimes wont let the new ones in there to lay. (there are 4 nesting boxes in there but they only want to use one)The quality of the Little Giant plastic nesting box is nice, I ordered online and picked up at my store and that was smooth as it could be and they are of good quality and easy enough to hang with zip ties but I wont bother purchasing another one because my chickens don't go near it and its just a decoration in my coop. Maybe someone else's chicken would use them.

I have 2 large, 12 pound Jersey Giant hens. Is this large enough to accomodate them?

Asked by: Karen R
The opening is 7 inches x 7 inches. I would imagine they could fit, 1 per box. You may want to measure, and make that decision.

how many boxes do you need for 7 chickens

Asked by: Sunnyboy
Each box can fit 1-2 chickens depending on their size. We recommend using your discretion when deciding on how many boxes would be appropriate for your chickens. However, if you are able to fit 2 in each of them, then 4 boxes would be the minimum you could get. The boxes are 16.5 inches long by 15.88 inches wide by 19.75 inches high, with an opening of 7 inches x 7 inches.
