Q&As

1 - 4 of 4 Questions

Q: Will this work for a water source 50 feet away?

1 Answer
  • A: Bojack - Thank you for contacting our Technical Support Team. We suggest the pump be as close as possible to the source of water. While the pump might be able to, it could start to vary if you're pulling from a lake that has an incline, and how many feet the incoming pipe going down into the water is. -GP Support

Q: How many facets can I run at one time

1 Answer
  • A: Pert - Thank you for reaching out to our Technical Support Team. There is no way to answer that. It depends on many factors. The biggest factor is the size of your pressure tank. The pump merely pushes water into the pressure tank (like a water balloon) and the bigger the balloon, the more faucets you can run. That being said, the pump pushes an average of 10 gpm into the balloon, and a shower in the us uses 2.5 gallon per minute and a faucet could use 1-1.5gpm. -GP Support

Q: Does it have an automatic cut off for when the pump runs dry?

1 Answer
  • A: JayP - Thank you for reaching out to our Technical Support Team. The pump does not have a cutoff to know when it runs dry. It is designed to keep pulling water until the pressure switch reaches 50 PSI. -GP Support

Q: Will this be sufficient for a mobile home. It’s a shallow well and cannot find an impeller so I need a good pump and tank.

1 Answer
  • A: Acegsp - Thank you for reaching out to our Technical Support Team. To preserve a pumps life, you want the pump to not have to turn on and off so much. An average home uses 200 gallons a day. This comes with a 6 gallon tank. To provide the 200 gallons a house needs at 6 gallons at a time, the pump would turn on more than 24 times per day. Also, a shower can use 3 gallons a minute. If someone were to turn on a faucet at the same time someone was showering, the pressure tank could not provide to both items at the proper rate. Just something to be aware of. Feel free to give us a call at 844 242-2475 and we can go over other setups. It is possible this might be ok if your water needs are not very great. -GP Support

Well worth the money! Consider the warranty too.

Well worth the money! Much better than the several transfer pumps that we purchased from another company. Theirs were cheeper (about half the price) but they only last about one year so overall the competitors pumps became more expensive. Because of our experience with the other pumps we also decided to purchase the extended warranty that was offered. We have only been using this pump for a couple weeks. We use the pump over the summer when our well runs low to pump from several large water tanks that we collect rain water in over the winter and spring. This allows us to stretch the well water using it just for the house and water our gardens, tiny vineyard, and tiny orchard.
