CountyLine Convertible Cast Iron Jet Pump, 1/2 HP is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 101.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Probably the quality to be expected for the price We got it to work. Had to return the first one, but the second one did the job. There were some other problems in the system, so it's not all the pump's fault, but it was a lot harder than it should have been to get running water back to the house and I wasn't particularly impressed by this pump in the process, but we've got it working now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 100 % Recommend Definitly recommend, although only have had for a short time... Simple set up and performs as should.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pumped up This pump works well. The install instructions need to be a little more complete. They were just a little confusing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pump I've only had this in for a couple weeks now but so far I have 0 complaints. It does the job of pumping water from our cistern. Bet advice I can give here is when buying a new pump make sure your discharge tank is good. I did not check mine and replace the old pump that locked up and then realized the tank bladder had busted at some point

Can this be used for a well deeper than 70 feet

Asked by: Snake
The CL520 cannot be used where the depth of the water is greater than 70 feet. The well can be deeper that 70 feet but suction lift is based on the depth to static (standing) water level in the well.

Can you use a Cl520 pump to pull well water from 60 ft using a single suction line through an 2" well casing ?

Asked by: roy 56
This unit will pull the water if, you use the well head adapter (HA2-20A) and ejector (FPAP2-P2) in the 2” pipe.

I need a pump for pumping pond water.  Does the CL520 have drain plugs for winter storage?

Asked by: wolf man
The CL520 does have drain plugs for winter storage. They are located near the bottom of the pump head.

can I use my existing 1" well pipe with a 1-1/4" adapter?

Asked by: Smyles
It is not recommended. If you cannot change to the 1-1/4” pipe, make sure that the transition is at least 1-1/2’ to 2’ of straight pipe from the pump. There should not be anything on the pump from the water source, but a piece of straight pipe.

Everytime this pump goes to cycle I have to help it get started, using a flathead in hole cut into the fan guard. This is the second one I have put in within 24 hours. Both have the same problem. I have tried both 110 and 220

I have the CL520 as an inline booster in the garage since we're a bit far from the well. It works fine but when it cycles it's pretty noisy. Is there a quieter model that might do the same thing?

Asked by: JohnLH
No, there is not another motor that makes less noise, most of these units are very quiet. The recommendation is to check for installation problems, or see if the piping or the motor pump is not vibrating against anything.
